Welcome to the Continuing Education section of our website. Here you’ll find a link to the Montana Board of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists site, as well as information for how to obtain MSHA and/or ASHA approved CEUs.
Mary Callahan and Anne Juel are the Continuing Education Administrators. Mary handles MSHA sponsored CEUs and Anne handles ASHA sponsored CEUs. They are both able to answer questions about the process.
State licensure requires 40 hours of continuing education every odd year, and ASHA certification requires 30 hours during each 3-year certification maintenance interval. MSHA sponsored CEUs follow the same standard set by ASHA. The Montana Board of Speech-language Pathology and Audiology accepts both MSHA and ASHA CEUs.
To get started, contact either Mary Callahan firstname.lastname@example.org or Anne Juel email@example.com. They will send you the necessary forms for documentation. Note that this can take up to 60 days to get your event approved. Currently MSHA CEUs are available to current MSHA members as a member benefit. If you are not a MSHA member, you can join MSHA prior to or at the event to obtain the MSHA certificate. If the event offers only MSHA but not ASHA CEUs, you can submit these to ASHA on your own through this if you are audited. link. http://www.asha.org/certification/SubmitComplianceForm/
MSHA is an ASHA Approved CE Provider. We are the only ASHA approved CE Provider in the state of Montana. In this role, we conduct, evaluate, and continuously improve our continuing education (CE) courses using the standards and requirements established by the ASHA Continuing Education Board (CEB). AS CEA (Continuing Education Administrator), Anne Juel is liaison between ASHA and MSHA.
Feel free to contact Mary or Anne if you have any questions related to CEUs.
