THURSDAY, APRIL 10, 2025: Dr. Skinder-Meredith received her doctorate from the University of Washington and her M.S. from the University of Arizona. She is a professor at Washington State University in Spokane and is the chair of the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. She is an experienced clinician who has worked in public schools, hospitals, university clinics, and private practice settings. Her primary clinical and research interest is in pediatric motor speech disorders, and her secondary area is cleft lip and palate. She has published and presented her research on childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) at national conferences and is co-author of Here’s How to Treat Childhood Apraxia of Speech, 3rd edition. She co-founded Camp Candoo for children with CAS in 2013 and started a camp for bilingual children with CAS in 2024. Dr. Skinder-Meredith has given numerous workshops for practicing speech-language pathologists nationally and internationally on the assessment and treatment of CAS. The MT OPI Autism Project has generously offered to sponsor 25 scholarships to attend this session for those working in Montana schools. FRIDAY, April 11, 2025 Audra Yetter M.S., CCC-SLP, BC-ANCDS, ADHD-CCSP is a speech-language pathologist in Gallatin County, Montana. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Montana State University and a Master’s degree in Medical Speech Pathology from the University of Washington in Seattle. She is board certified by the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences. She has clinically served adults with neurogenic communication disorders for 16 years. Audra is currently is in private practice and previously worked in hospital outpatient and acute care settings. She is also an adult executive function coach. She is passionate about person-centered care and breaking down silos between fields of applied neuroscience to optimize clinical service. Primary clinical interests include using psycholinguistic and cognitive neuroscientific theories to inform the management of aphasia and neurocognitive disorders, as well as supporting mental health and other psychosocial factors within the care of neurogenic communication disorders. She presents clinical education at state and national conferences, as well as related training to other medical professionals. She has mentored several speech-language pathology graduate students, working clinicians, and leads ANCDS board certification mentoring. When not working, Audra can be found rafting, backpacking, or Nordic skiing with her family and golden retriever. |
